Walking Safari

DAY 1

Depart to Selous Game Reserve

After breakfast depart Dar by chartered aircraft (one-hour). Lunch upon arrival at Rufiji River Camp. Afternoon boating safari along the mighty Rufiji River. You will see plenty of hippos, crocodiles and bird life with over 400 species. Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp.

DAY 2

Game Drives & Walking Safaris

After breakfast, morning game drive in the Selous, Africa’s largest wildlife sanctuary, with an area of 54.600kms. Lunch at Rufiji River Camp. Afternoon walking safari in the Selous, which boast the world’s largest number of big game – elephant, buffalo, rhino, hippos, giraffes and wildebeest. Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp.

DAY 3

Walking/ Boating Safaris in Selous

After breakfast, go on a morning walking safari with intimate impressions of the rich wildlife in the African bush. Lunch at Rufiji River Camp. Afternoon boating safari in the Great Rufiji River. Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp

DAY 4

Walking/ Boating Safaris in Selous

After breakfast, go on a morning walking safari with intimate impressions of the rich wildlife in the African bush. Lunch at Rufiji River Camp. Afternoon boating safari in the Great Rufiji River. Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp.

DAY 5

Selous to Udzungwa Mountains

After breakfast, departure for Udzungwa via a scenic drive through the Uluguru Mountains to Mikumi (approx 7 hours). Lunch in Mikumi en route to Udzungwa. Late afternoon arrival at the Udzungwa with half-day hiking and bird-watching in the pristine rain forest. Dinner and overnight at Udzungwa Lodge.

DAY 6

Hiking in the Udzungwa Mountains

After breakfast, spend a full-day hiking in the Udzungwa Mountains. Picnic lunch in the Mountains. Afternoon hiking and bird-watching in the rainforest towards the Sanje River Waterfall. Dinner and overnight at Udzungwa Lodge.

DAY 7

Udzungwa – Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, drive through the southern highlands to Mikumi National Park. Lunch at Vuma Hill Camp or Mikumi Wildlife Camp. Afternoon games drive in Mikumi National Park. Dinner and overnight at Vuma Hill Camp or Mikumi Wildlife Camp.

DAY 8

Game Drives in Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, morning game drive in Mikumi. Lunch at Vuma Hill Camp or Mikumi Wildlife Camp. Afternoon games drive in Mikumi. Dinner and overnight at Vuma Hill Camp or Mikumi Wildlife Camp.

DAY 9

Depart Mikumi for Ruaha National Park

After breakfast, drive through the southern highlands to Ruaha National Park (approx 6 hours). With stop in. Lunch in Iringa Town en route to Ruaha. Afternoon games drive in Ruaha National Park .Dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge.

DAY 10

Game Drives in Ruaha N. Park

After breakfast, morning game drives in Ruaha National Park. Lunch at Ruaha River Lodge. Afternoon game drives in Ruaha National Park. Dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge.

DAY 11

Another -Game Drives in Ruaha

After breakfast, morning game drive in Ruaha National Park. Lunch at Ruaha River Lodge. Afternoon game drives in Ruaha National Park. Dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge.

DAY 12

Depart Ruaha for Dar es Salaam

After breakfast, drive to Mikumi National Park. Lunch at Vuma Hill Camp or Mikumi Wildlife Camp. Depart Mikumi for Dar es Salaam arriving in the evening. (Note: You May Choose to Fly-Out of Ruaha by a Daily Scheduling Morning Flight (11.45am) to Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam by Request). All Meals Included. End of Trip.

The Tour Price Includes

  • Boat & walking safari in selous / Nyerere National Park
    Bottled mineral water in the vehicle while on safari.
  • Pick up and drop off at  Dar es salaam / Zanziar Airport.
  • Domestic Flights (one way fly to Selous) by Auric Air
  • Accommodation and meals per the itinerary (B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner).
  • Lunch and dinner on day 1, breakfast, lunch and dinner on day 2-11 and breakfast and lunch on day 12 of your trip.
  • In case of a camping safari: camping gear like tents, camping mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows, camping chairs, etc.
  • Game drives, Concession fees, Accommodation, All park entry fees, Government tax 18% VAT on tour fees and Service which cost nearly 100% of the total cost. 
  • Transport in a 4×4 safari vehicle from your hotel in Arusha to the parks and back (other pick-up points possible, please contact us for the right price)
  • Ground transportation in a 8 setter or 6 setter 4x4 Safari vehicle with English Speaking Driver guide: -
  • 8 setter Safari vehicle has 6 windows seats (in the passenger cabin) and 1 window seat next to the driver (in front)
  • 6 setter Safari vehicle has 4 windows seats (in the passenger cabin) and 1 window seat next to the driver (in front)
  • Accommodation of your choice: from budget camping to staying in luxurious lodges, we can arrange it for you(the prices mentioned above are for overnight stays in Mid-range to high-end hotels/lodge/tented Camps according to the program, other prices are applicable for the other accommodation options).

The Tour Price Excludes

  • Meals not listed above. eg Breakfast on the first day and dinner on the last
  • Tanzania Visa cost which is 50% except for Canadian and USA passport holders which is US$100.
  • International and Domestic Flights and departure taxes (Quoted separately where applicable)
  • Optional activities and excursions (short safari/tour after your Safari can be arranged upon request at an extra cost).
  • Accommodation in Dar es salaam / Zanzibar. If you wish, we can however assist you in finding a place that corresponds to your needs and budget.
  • Flights or other transport to Dar es salam. We can however arrange airport pickup for you. Let us know your itinerary and we’ll make it happen!
  • Tips for the crew. We recommend a tip of 25 USD per day for your guide, and 15 USD per day for your cook, to be divided between each member of your group.
  • Ruaha balloon ride, per person Adult (Above 16yrs) $550, Child (7-16yrs) $530 {June - October} Daily launch at dawn (6:30am) returning approx. 9:45am.
  • Inoculations and personal insurance (e.g. Tanzania Visa, Travel, Medical and Baggage insurance, A doctor for the group, Laundry, Souvenirs, Telephone, Beverages (available to purchase) and all other services that are not mentioned as included.
  • Holiday Surcharge : A supplement of US $ 40.00 per person per day will apply to all bookings on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31 December and 1st January
  • A supplement of US $ 35.00 per person will apply to all bookings between Friday 3rd and Monday 6th April (for all 4 days) as Easter holiday surcharge.
