A country with so much variety, space and richness of life, with the expansive Serengeti plains (the epitome of ‘safari’), and the magnificent and vast Ngorongoro Crater – which together support over 2 million wild animals and hosts the great wildebeest migration. This is one of the world’s most favored places to visit and thrilling by helicopter with the freedom to cover the vast distances, flying low to make the most of the stunning landscapes. Staying in a collection of the best lodges and tented camps that African has to offer, our helicopter safaris also bring in some hidden and unexpected experiences, including the flamingo shoes of Lake Natron, the active mountain of Oldonyo Lengai, and the archeological site of Laetoli where earliest sign of mankind lies in the form of hominid footprints. We use the Airbus H125 and H130 helicopters - they have an unmatched ability to operate in hot and dusty conditions, and at high altitude. We have a range of Cessna aircraft - all single engine, ideal for groups between 4 and 12 passengers. These aircraft are renowned for their robust design, proven abilities on bush airstrips and reliability record. DAY 1
Chem Chem Wildlife Reserve

You will be met at the airport in Arusha for the start of your helicopter safari to Tanzania. From Arusha you head to Chem Chem for the start of your safari. Chem Chem is located in a private concession between Lake Manyara and Tarangire offering a natural wildlife corridor. Today you head by helicopter to explore some of the crater lakes and remote tribes of Tanzania.

Helicopter gives u the freedom to explore further off the beaten track and Tanzania has some incredible vistas and tribes that are way off the track and only accessible by helicopter. One of the most incredible sights is to fly over Lake Natron which has a bright pink hue caused by the high evaporation rate of the alkaline lake of the Great Rift Valley. The lake is one of the breeding grounds for lesser flamingos that can number over 2.5 million.

Fly over the Great Rift Valley on an incredible journey with brunch and coffee stops along the way. Fly over Lake Natron to see the flamingos, Lengai (an active volcano), and waterfalls with swimming pools before flying past the famous Ngorongoro Crater and Embakai Crater. Upon return for a late lunch, your pilot will fly down towards Lake Eyasi where guests can marvel at the shimmering water and striking escarpment.

Mwiba Wildlife Reserve

From Chem Chem you continue your Tanzania helicopter safari to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater where a vehicle will be waiting to take you into the Crater for a game drive. Once you have enjoyed your game drive you head back to the helicopter to fly to the Mwiba Private Reserve along the southern part of the Serengeti National Park

Over the next 3-days you have the chance to explore the private Mwiba Reserve by helicopter where you get to fly along some of the Great Rift Valley’s steep mountain sides, landing along the way to explore waterfalls, rivers and vistas that go on forever. The reserve is also one of the best in Tanzania for game drives. Being a private concession means guests are guaranteed exclusivity at sightings away from the crowds.

Mwiba Wildlife Reserve

A real highlight of your Tanzania Helicopter Safari is the chance to explore remote areas of this vast wildlife reserve and explore the unexplored areas on a walking safari, sleeping in rustic fly-camps under the stars. This is a real adventure safari and very special experience as there are no roads and definitely no other tourists. This is the beauty about a helicopter safari.

Fly by plane to Serengeti National Park

From Mwiba you fly by plane into the heart of the Serengeti National Park to a camp that is best located to access the great migration as it moves clockwise through the grasslands of the Serengeti. Being in a national park has restrictions on helicopter flights and so your time here is spent on the ground exploring in a vehicle on game drives.

The Serengeti is large open grassland with rocky outcrops and a few forested areas along the rivers. These huge open grasslands are the perfect habitat for cheetah, making this one of the best places in Africa to see these spotted cats. Lion, leopard and hyena make up the rest of the large carnivores while elephants, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, topi and other antelopes make up the majority of the herbivores. DAY 9
Full Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Experience a safari from the sky over the Southern Serengeti region, searching for wildlife from above and soaking in vast Tanzanian landscapes. For your first stop, your pilot expertly lands the helicopter atop a beautiful koppie (boulder) where you can enjoy a hot cup of coffee and marvel over the seemingly endless wilderness. Next, fly out over Lake Eyasi and land on the escarpment’s highest point for a breathtaking brunch or sundowner.
DAY 10
Lake Eyasi - Back to Arusha

No Accommodation
Take to the skies to experience dramatically stunning vistas of Lake Eyasi and the cascading escarpment, with your pilot cruising at a low altitude for optimal viewing. Birdlife is abundant all year round with extensive birding on the lake between November and December, including pelicans and flamingos. Your pilot then lands on the highest point of the escarpment for a spectacular brunch or sundowner.
The Tour Price Includes
- Bottled mineral water in the vehicle while on safari.
- Pick up and drop off at Kilimanjaro (JRO) or Arusha Airport.
- Accommodation and meals per the itinerary (B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner).
- Game drives, Concession fees, Accommodation, All park entry fees, Government tax 18% VAT on tour fees and Service which cost nearly 100% of the total cost.
- Dinner on day 1, breakfast, lunch and dinner on day 2-9 and breakfast & lunch on day 10 of your trip.
- Pre and after safari accommodation at the hotel, 2 nights in your chosen hotel/lodge/resort in Arusha with bed & breakfast (B&B) Meal.
- In case of a camping safari: camping gear like tents, camping mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows, camping chairs, etc.
- Transport in a 4×4 safari vehicle from your hotel in Arusha to the parks and back (other pick-up points possible, please contact us for the right price)
- Ground transportation in a 8 setter or 6 setter 4x4 Safari vehicle with English Speaking Driver guide: -

- Private flights and helicopter services, We use the Airbus H125 and H130 helicopters - they have an unmatched ability to operate in hot and dusty conditions, and at high altitude. The Tour Price Excludes

- Tanzania Visa cost which is 50% except for Canadian and USA passport holders which is US$100.
- International and Domestic Flights and departure taxes (Quoted separately where applicable)
- Optional activities and excursions (short safari/tour after your Safari can be arranged upon request at an extra cost).
- Flights or other transport to Arusha, We can however arrange airport pickup for you. Let us know your itinerary and we’ll make it happen!
- Tips for the crew. We recommend a tip of 25 USD per day for your guide, and 15 USD per day for your cook, to be divided between each member of your group.
- Serengeti Black Rhinos Project (Moru Kopjes) fees: US$ 100 + 35US$ (VAT18% & other fees) Per Person Per Day (Option, If you need).
- Ngorongoro | Ndutu balloon ride, per person Adult (Above 16yrs) $580, Child (7-16yrs) $530 {20th Dec - 31st March} Daily launch at dawn (6:30am) returning approx. 9:45am (Option, If you need).
- Serengeti balloon ride, per person Adult (Above 16yrs) $599, Child (7-16yrs) $545. {Central All year round, Western 15th May - 30th Oct, and North 15th June - 15th Jan} Daily launch at dawn (6:30am) returning approx. 9:45am (Option, If you need).
- Inoculations and personal insurance (e.g. Tanzania Visa, Travel, Medical and Baggage insurance, A doctor for the group, Laundry, Souvenirs, Telephone, Beverages (available to purchase) and all other services that are not mentioned as included.
- Holiday Surcharge: A supplement of US $ 40.00 per person per day will apply to all bookings on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31 December and 1st January
- A supplement of US $ 35.00 per person will apply to all bookings between Friday 3rd and Monday 6th April (for all 4 days) as Easter holiday surcharge.
