Safari Overview

This migration attracts over two million animals, and so you can imagine the sheer beauty and adrenaline of the process. If you plan to only make one trip down to Kenya, then align it with the Wildebeest migration, and you will leave with memories for life. The Mara is like fine wine; gets more fascinating by the day and always manages to surprise you. We start 3 Days Masai Mara National Reserve camping / lodge safari with game drive. The plan is to venture deeper into the Maasai Mara to uncover its freshly rejuvenated animals looking for food in the densely thicketed grasslands. There’s quite a lot that goes on in the mornings, and experiencing this brilliance against the backdrop of the sunset is truly magical. Your guides know the wildlife’s go-to spots, and with this knowledge, you are allowed a one-on-one with thousands of species. The scenery here begs for a photograph, and the view of the long-distanced Mt. Kilimanjaro are somewhat unreal.

DAY 1

Nairobi – Masai Mara Reserve (Appx: 284kms – 5-6 hrs)

06:00 hrs: pick up from your Nairobi area hotel / Nairobi airport / residence. Start the safari journey to the Masai Mara Game reserve, Kenya’s finest wildlife haven. The dawn drive stops at Narok town where you enjoy your breakfast. Arrive Masai Mara at approximately 12:00 hrs. Dinner and overnight at lodge/tented camp (FB)

DAY 2

Full Game Drive in Masai Mara + Masai village visit

Mara morning game drives never get old. They, as a matter of fact, help set the pace for the rest of the day. 6:30 AM gets us on our vehicle ready to explore the day away at the Mara. The thousands of animals, remarkable scenery and bird life are always an awesome treat. But this time, we take to the Sky and sink all the drama as it unfolds below us. Nothing complements the Mara better than a hot air balloon safari. Overnight at lodge/Tented camp

DAY 3

Masai Mara - Back to Nairobi

Early morning game viewing drives at the Masai Mara. Later depart for Nairobi with a stop to view the great rift escarpment. Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch. Accommodation in Nairobi (Can be arranged upon request at an extra cost)

We do not book International Flights.
We can book local flights based on availability. Below are indicative additional costs for local flights.

This tour starts & ends at Nairobi with road transfers between all locations. Masai Mara is the farthest location you will be visiting in this tour and it is 5 hours from Nairobi, each way. To save drive time, you can directly fly into Masai Mara where your safari vehicle with guide will be waiting to directly start the safari and cover the park over the next few days making your way to Nairobi by road on the last day. We will reroute the itinerary such that you cover all the parks included in the original itinerary with the same choice of accommodations & same number of nights as included in the original itinerary. This is called a Fly-in Safari

We can also reroute the itinerary such that you start with driving from Nairobi on day 1 to Masai Mara. We end the safari tour at Masai Mara on the last day from where you can fly out to Nairobi. We will reroute the itinerary such that you cover all the parks included in the original itinerary with the same choice of accommodations & same number of nights as included in the original itinerary. This is called a Fly-out Safari.

Payment Policy

Deposit Payment - Deposit is 30% of the total booking amount. - Deposit can be paid either via a bank transfer or an online card payment. - A 5% fee is applicable on all card payments (payment gateway charges). This is non-refundable. - We offer bank accounts in 10 different currencies for bank transfers. - Once you make the deposit payment you will receive a booking confirmation.

Balance Payment - Balance can be paid via bank transfer, online card payment or with cash - Bank payment can be done 15 days prior to the tour date (recommended 30 days prior) - Card payment can be done 1 day prior to the tour date (recommended 7 days prior) - A 5% fee is applicable on all card payments (payment gateway charges). This is non-refundable. - Cash can be paid on arrival (US Dollars printed in or after the year 2009)

 

Cancellation Policy

  • Deposit paid is fully refundable till 45 days before departure date.
  • Within 44 to 30 days before tour date - 10% of the tour amount is charged as cancellation fees.
  • Within 29 to 15 days before tour date - 20% of the tour amount is charged as cancellation fees.
  • Within 14 days before tour date - 30% of the tour amount is charged as cancellation fees.
  • Card processing fees, which is 5% on all card payments, is not refundable.

 

Amendment Policy

  • 30 days or more before departure date - Credit voucher for full deposit will be issued.
  • Within 29 to 15 days before departure date - 10% of the tour amount will be charged as cancellation fees and a Credit voucher for the remaining deposit will be issued.
  • Within 14 to 7 days before departure date - 20% of tour amount will be charged as cancellation fees and Credit voucher for remaining deposit will be issued.
  • Within 6 days before departure date - 30% of tour amount will be charged as cancellation fees and Credit voucher for remaining deposit will be issued.
  • All credit vouchers are non-refundable and will have a validity of 24 months from the original date of departure.
  • If any payments are paid through card the surcharge amount will not be considered in the credit voucher. So, the credit voucher will be issued excluding the surcharge amount.

Note 2. Effective from 1st November 2023, our 2024 prices have been updated to reflect the revised park fees for Masai Mara (USD 100 from Jan to Jun and USD 200 from July to Dec).

The Tour Price Includes

  • Pick up and drop off at JKIA Airport.
  • Bottled mineral water in the vehicle while on safari.
  • If you choose a camping safari: camping gear like tents, camping mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows, camping chairs, etc.
  • Accommodation and meals per the itinerary (B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner). Lunch & Dinner on day 1, breakfast, lunch and dinner on day 2 and Breakfast & Dinner on day 3 of your trip. This tour offers Vegetarian, Vegan and Halal food options on request. Simply let our administrator team know the food option that you prefer.
  • Ground transportation in a 8 setter or 6 setter 4x4 Safari vehicle with English Speaking Driver guide: -
  • 8 setter Safari vehicle has 6 windows seats (in the passenger cabin) and 1 window seat next to the driver (in front)
  • 6 setter Safari vehicle has 4 windows seats (in the passenger cabin) and 1 window seat next to the driver (in front)
  • Game drives, accommodation, all park entry fees, and government tax 15% VAT on tour fees and service which cost nearly 100% of the total cost.

The Tour Price Excludes

  • Airport Transfers (Unless mentioned otherwise).
  • Meals not listed above. eg Breakfast on the first day, and dinner on the last day.
  • Kenyan Visa cost which is 50% except for Canadian and USA passport holders which is US$100.
  • International and Domestic Flights and departure taxes (Quoted separately where applicable)
  • Optional activities and excursions (short safari/tour after your safari can be arranged upon request at an extra cost).
  • Hot-air Balloon safari 560 US$(Can be arranged upon request at an extra cost, Please ask us at the time of the booking)
  • Domestic flight from Nairobi Airport to Masai Mara Airstrip {Can be arranged upon request at an extra cost, Please ask us at the time of the booking}
  • Tips for the crew. We recommend a tip of 25 USD per day for your guide, and 15 USD per day for your cook, to be divided between each member of your group.
  • Inoculations and personal insurance (e.g. Visa, Travel, Medical and Baggage insurance, A doctor for the group, Laundry, Souvenirs, Telephone, Beverages (available to purchase) and all other services that are not mentioned as included.
  • Holiday Surcharge : A supplement of US $ 40.00 per person per day will apply to all bookings on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31 December and 1st January
  • A supplement of US $ 35.00 per person will apply to all bookings between Friday 3rd and Monday 6th April (for all 4 days) as Easter holiday surcharge.
